Live in Nashville is the first full-length LP from Allie Farris. Originally conceived as an idea to capture the excitement of a live show inside a fully produced album, the CD was recorded on the snowy night of November 25th, 2013 at the High Watt club in Nashville, TN. Utilizing over 40 inputs on a custom soundboard, every pop, crackle, and hiss was fed into the computer of producer and mixing engineer Gus Berry, to then be molded over the course of 6 months. Every song is raw, and straight from the heart of Farris, who wrote most of the CD between July and October 2013. Having most of Live in Nashville proceeding through such a linear timeline serves to carry the listener down a rugged path right behind the searching singer; on tour through the mountains and canyons of Appalachia ("Just Checking In"), flying down the highways of the midwest, headlights glaring ("Beyond Your Blues"), or even just a sleepless night at home ("Friday Night at Home"). This record gives us every shade in the tapestry of a young woman's growth, isolation, and triumph in finding what it means to be a complete person in light of devastating loss. Playing like a film, Allie Farris's Live in Nashville is a journey that uses the influence of her idols (Springsteen, Joel, King) as a roadmap; and honest, heartfelt lyrics as a compass--leaving every listener to decide where the story takes them.
